File Exchange to and from Rhino

(alphabetical order)

1. Information about file types

2. File Format Translators

CommentI agree w/ Dan here. Even if your supplier might agree to export as step/iges i find those too unreliable unless you have a way to compare what imported is the same stuff that they exported. I've tried Datakit and it worked flawlessly. Some other option to try is buy a seat of concepts unlimited. it has a direct Catia import and its alot cheaper that the datakit plugin i think. The part that I'm not sure is how well the integrity of your data will be mantained in this r way trip. I would demo it first of course. [gustavo - 2005-11-29]
CommentMy experience with Concepts Unlimited is that the export functions are poor, so you might be pretty disappointed here [Mitch - 2005-11-30]
CommentTake a look at the translators from DataKit. They work very well. If this is a situation that you will see a lot, I suggest spending the money. If it's a one time deal, go for the 7 day evaluation. [Dan Bayn - 2005-11-28]
CommentYou import just about any file (I've not tried any Catia files, but they do show up on the file types)to your machine. To export it back out to something you can use it is a one time cost of about $50. [Jack - 2005-11-29]
CommentIt's already possible to read/write .3dm files directly from Delcam software, but only if you have the PS-Exchange module installed. [G. C. Webster - 2005-11-30]
